Newsletter Quarter 1 Week 4

Can you believe it's week four already?

Here is what we are learning about this week:

Writer’s Workshop-   We will use literature connections to think of topics to write. We will also expand our sentences. We will be choosing a writing goal for ourselves!

Math- Read, count aloud and write numbers to 1000 using base-ten numerals, number names  and expanded form.

Reader’s Workshop- We will examine schema in order to add new learning or take out misconceptions from mental files. In addition, we will be learning two new reading strategies:

• look carefully at letters and words to read with accuracy
• use context clues to understand a word (use prior knowledge and context to predict and confirm meaning?

Science: We will be discovering sound and learning more about vibrations, pitch and volume. 

We are still in need of paper towel rolls. 

The special schedule is the same all quarter.

Wednesday-Gym

Thursday- Art

Friday- Guidance

Please dress your child in appropriate shoes!

Homework: We have a new three week homework schedule for weeks 4-6. I have students working on homework after 3:45. I provide homework help everyday!
